The two biggest cities of canton Fribourg are the bilingual art- and university city Fribourg (with a bilingual university) and Bulle in the Greyerzerland. The city Freiburg / Fribourg, a pearl of the gothic epoch, has one of the best preserved historical Old Towns in Switzerland (for instance: St Nicholas Cathedral, one of the most important general works in Europe in the field of Art Nouveau stained-glass windows.) In the city Fribourg is a tourist attraction, the last and only funicular in Switzerland, nor with the water ballast is operated. At the foot of the city Freiburg is the Pérolles Lake, a reservoir with a concrete dam of the oldest in Europe.
